Have faith! Grab on to the hand of Jesus!

“Lord, if it is you, command me to you on the water. “ Jesus said, “Come.” What would you do? Would you step out of the boat or make excuses: water too cold? Can’t swim well? A bit windy out? That’s how we make excuses in life. I would like to help, but I’m really busy. I can’t help, I don’t know how. Or I’m in the middle of something! It’s late! Don’t have the means! When you go back to the Gospel, many people look at Peter and say he has a weak faith and so he sank. But Peter was the only one who said tell me to come to you, the only one who truly exercised his faith and trust in Jesus.

We are all called at one time or another to exercise our faith in service to another. It could be a simple favor, or sharing some time with someone, or helping someone. in need. It’s easy to make excuses. But like Peter, are we willing to take the chance and step out of the boat? We may struggle with our attempt to help and even fail once or twice. But, like with Peter, Jesus’ hand is outstretched, so just grab on. Sometimes just the attempt to help another is all that is needed. Sometimes your willing to help gets another to join in too.

Have faith! Grab on to the hand of Jesus! And be in awe as to what you can accomplish.
