Last weekend I gave my homily about what is needed and what we want in our lives. After those Masses and finishing up the bazaar, I started to reflect on what I have. Last week and weekend, I saw so many people gathering to help at our annual bazaar. Could we have used more, always. But those who were here worked, enjoyed themselves, and did a great service for the Church. That made me realize what I (we) have here in our parish. It is a community of faith- filled people who are welcoming to strangers and willing to share their time and talent for the Church. A message for help goes out, and someone or many will come forward. Put out a request for support, and so many find a way to share. I want to say Thank You to the many people and volunteers that shared their time and energy to make our bazaar successful. Some worked a few hours here and there. And many work long hours everyday. For me, this has been a good reflection of what I have. I hope you will take the time to see what you have, in friends, neighbors, relatives and even some acquaintances that are willing to share time, talent and treasure with you.
Be thankful.
