Many people swear by a particular diet they follow to help them lose weight. But there are so many diet programs out there, which one is best. If you look closely at them, they all advocate the basics: cut back on certain foods and exercise regularly.
Lent begins this Wednesday. Maybe this Lent can be everyone’s diet of sorts. Not to lose weight, but to improve or better our lives of faith. So we need to get down to the basics. We do without certain things. It’s called fasting, sacrificing or giving up certain vices that have effected our lives. And then we need to pray regularly. Prayer will keep us on tract. It will give us what we need to succeed in life as we recognize what it most important. It helps us to put things in perspective as we learn to live by the Lord’s words.
Prayer will help us to know and recognize Jesus is always there as our companion through life.
