“What are you looking for?”

“What are you looking for?”

In today’s Gospel, two of John’s disciples were following Jesus. Jesus stopped and asked them, “What are you looking for?”

If Jesus was to ask you that question, what answer would you give? When we look for Jesus, what is it that we want to see or hear? Are we looking for Jesus to take away all our problems; or the wisdom and courage to face them and overcome them? Do we want Jesus to answer our prayers exactly as we asked of Him; or do we want His inspiration and grace to see how we can handle our various situations? Do we want Jesus to be at our beck and call; or are we willing to be His messengers and disciples sharing His love?

Jesus always answers our prayers. It may just not be the answer we expect. But it will be the answer we need.
