Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

January is here again, and for many people, it’s time to make our annual New Year’s resolutions. So often these resolutions are made on the spare of the moment: need to lose weight; stop smoking; cut back on this or that. In today’s Gospel from St. Luke, maybe there is some inspirational words to help us. In the Gospel, it says: “And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.” (Luke 2:19) In the spirit of Mary’s reflecting, take your time to ponder the year just concluded, reflecting on if your life and conscience are satisfied or unsatisfied. Ask patiently for guidance regarding how to better serve the Lord in the months ahead. Let the freshness of a new year be your impetus to make new spiritual strides in your walk with God. Maybe spend a few more minutes daily in prayer. Or dust off that Bible and read a passage or two regularly. Little ways like this can help us climb that mountain of faith and then open our eyes to what other things need to change in our lives – not the weight – but maybe our attitude toward others and our relationships with family and friends. Ponder. Pray. Then Act.

Happy New Year!
And may the Blessings of God
Good Health, Happiness & Peace
Be with you every day!
