The focus of today’s readings is God’s love and mission. God chooses His people and cares for them with love. The Gospel shows Jesus being merciful to the crowds that gathered to hear Him and then sending His disciples to help, heal, and share the Good News. The challenge for us is to recognize that God calls everyday people to serve Him and share His love. We are invited to see our role in God’s plan. We are chosen, loved, and sent out to serve. God calls us to share freely the gifts we have received. This is the work of His people – all of us – in every time and place. So share the Good News. It could mean a simple act of kindness, a prayer offered for another, or simply living a life that reflects God’s love. You may feel called to be a lector or Eucharistic Minister. Don’t say you are unworthy or unprepared to spread the faith. Remember, Jesus chooses ordinary people and gives us the grace to serve. So, whether it be serving at Mass, singing or playing in one of our choirs, joining a society, or volunteering for a project or activity at Church, it is a way to spread the Good News of Jesus.
