Make Christ’s Teaching Come Alive

Make Christ’s Teaching Come Alive

Jesus sent out 72 disciples to preach the Gospel message. They went out into the known world and shared Christ’ messages to love God with everything we have, to love one another, to forgive each other, not to judge, but be willing to sacrifice for others. As faithful Christians, are we doing the same? We should attract others by leading exemplary lives, just as a rose attracts people by its beauty and its fragrance. We might say this is our job and responsibility. Don’t miss the many opportunities to be His disciples through our own kind words and good deeds. We need to avoid giving counter-witness to our faith by being ”supermarket catholics”, “armchair catholics”, “cafeteria catholics’, or “Sunday catholics”.

Let us start proclaiming the Gospel in our families by leading exemplary Christian lives, in which spouses love and respect each other, raise their children in the spirit of obedience and service, discipline them with forgiving love and teach them through persistent example to pray, love and help others by sharing their blessings.

It’s the Fourth of July or Independence Day Weekend. We have our freedom from the sacrifices of so many who sacrificed their lives. Can we sacrifice our time, talent and treasure to make Christ’s teaching come alive and bring us true freedom.
