Today we celebrate that beautiful Feast of Easter: Resurrection! Alleluia! Our forty day journey of Lent is over. We have seen Jesus hit with ridicule, false accusation, torture and death on a cross. But today we celebrate His victory over all that. He comes back to life. He shows us His power over sin and death and He opens the gates of Heaven for us all. This is our faith. But in our everyday, individual lives it has even deeper meaning. As Jesus was able to overcome His suffering and death, we too can overcome our difficulties in life with faith in Him. At one point, Jesus prayed that this cup of suffering may pass Him by. But He didn’t give up. He persevered. He tells us that we too can accomplish all things in our life. We can overcome our difficulties and problems. It is that faith in Jesus that we need. Maybe that’s what brings us here on Easter Sunday morning. It it is that same faith that is renewed every Sunday as we gather in a Eucharistic celebration (Mass) and we are replenished with Jesus in Holy Communion. So today, celebrate Jesus’ rising to new life. Celebrate your faith that gets you through the difficulties of life. Celebrate your trust in Jesus to guide you through life.
Happy Easter!
