A few years ago,we started and ran a very prayerful and successful Elijah Cup program to pray for vocations in the Church. Covid stopped that. We are re-instituting the Elijah Cup program this September.

We are all aware of the need for vocations to the priesthood, the diaconate and to the religious life. But sometimes we forget just how powerful praying for an increase in vocations can be. If we pray with the faith of the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17), our cup will never run dry! We will always have priests to bring us Jesus in the Eucharist. The purpose of the ELIJAH CUP, a consecrated chalice, is to provide a focus point for our prayer. When your family prays around the Elijah Cup, remember the Eucharist that sustains us, and that God’s providence is great, and that He has not forgotten us or left us without priests.

A Sign-Up Book is at the Information Booth where you can register for a particular weekend Mass. The Chalice will be presented to you at the end of Mass along with a book of prayers and meditations. Let us pray that those out there being called by the spirit to a religious vocation will answer that calling.
