June 10th, 2020

Thank you to all those who participated in our live masses this past week.  I think everybody will agree that it was a little odd sitting far apart with our masks on our faces but it was wonderful to see the church alive again with people and best of all to receive Holy Communion.  This weekend we will add two Sunday masses to the schedule; Saturday at 5 pm and Sunday at 8:30 am.  Reservations are required. (We do not want to turn anybody away at the door). Please follow the directions below and watch for future updates.   Dispensation from the Sunday Mass obligation will remain in place.  We ask that you do not come to Mass if you are not feeling well, not comfortable or if you are in a high-risk group.  We will continue to live stream the Sunday Mass for your viewing.

June 7- 14

This week the church remains open from 8 am – 5-pm for daily prayer and adoration. Please follow all safety procedures by wearing a mask, staying 6 feet away from each other and washing or sanitizing your hands.

As mentioned above two weekend masses have been added to the schedule. Please call 570-629-0593 or respond by text to our Flocknote. (we will get your reservation either way)

June 15- June 21

New Mass Schedule:

Daily Mass: We will be back to our regular daily mass schedule this week with one exception; there will NOT be a Saturday 8 am mass.  Registrations are no longer needed; however, attendees will sign in at the door and masks are still required.

Saturday 6/20 – 5 pm and Sunday 6/21 8:30 and 10:30 am.  Doors will open about 30 minutes before the start of mass.  Registration is necessary as to not refuse anyone at the door.  We ask for a little patience for the 10:30 mass as we must clean and sanitize the church after the 8:30 mass. Masks and social distancing are required.

Attending Mass

Volunteers will assist you with choosing your mass for the week.  Doors will open 30 minutes before the start of mass.  You must wear a mask, or you will not be admitted. Check in at the door and be directed to your seat. When mass begins the doors will be locked (you can always get out).

  • You must wear a mask for the entire mass except when receiving Holy Communion.
  • The seats are arranged for social distancing and to allow for maximum capacity.
  • Offering boxes will be placed in the church lobby.  There will be no collections taken.
  • The rest rooms will be closed.  If you have an emergency an usher will accommodate your needs.
  • Holy Communion will be distributed at the end of Mass.  After the final blessing, Holy Communion will be given, and you will exit the church. The church will be locked and sanitized for the next mass.

Senior Lunch

Something new for our Senior Parishioners.  We will be serving a take home hot lunch for the next couple of weeks on Thursdays.  The donation for lunch is $2.00 and the lunch will be brought out to your car.  Pick up is between noon and 1 pm.  Call or respond to text to reserve a lunch.

Cleaners

Thank you to the many people who offered to clean and sanitize the church after mass.  Please stay after the mass you are attending, and you will be given supplies, gloves, and a section to clean. Thank you again.

Tech Help

Our ‘crew’ has been working hard the last few months to record the mass for our parish every weekend and holy day.  We are moving on to another phase which will include live streaming the mass to Facebook.   We have invested in all new equipment and are ready to go.  This Saturday we will live stream our first mass on Saturday evening.  We need more help, possibly even some of our parish teenagers who would be willing to work the camera and oversee the process.  Please call Fr. Rich at 570-629-4572 if you would like to help.

VBS (Vacation Bible School)

July 13-17- 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for children entering Kindergarten thru Grade 5.   We will be exploring God’s Big Back Yard with stories, games, arts and crafts, and music.  Small groups- sign up for a day or a week.
