Today is the Feast of the Epiphany or the Manifestation of the Lord or Three Kings or the Feast of Lights. Whichever title to this Feast you use, it is the Feast that tells us that Jesus came into our world for all people to see, to be recognized, and to be changed.

The Magi followed the star and found Jesus. They offered their gifts and then returned home by another way. Was that other way a change of heart from seeing the Infant Jesus? Did that humble beginning change the way these Magi looked at the world? Has that same Light of Christ given us a better vision of the world: our families, friends, coworkers and even strangers? What is that ‘other way’ for us?

We like to make resolutions for the new year. Usually these resolutions take the form of a change of some bad habit to improve our physical health. But maybe this year our resolution can be to spread the light of Christ and to make more visible the presence of Jesus.

Think of what Jesus has done for you and now resolve: to be more patient, to be more forgiving, to be kinder and generous, to set better example for others. In other words, to let Christ’s love be the light that guides your life and the lives of those around you.

God Bless!
